The Big Australian Email Report

Australian company eservices have launched what is hopefully the first of a yearly analysis of the state of the email marketing industry in Australia.

The report offers a clear 'state of play' and some benchmarking insights and general industry trends and statistics.

The Big Australian Email Report analysed the use of the email channel by medium and large corporates in Australia by combining results from a 2008 - 2009 survey of Australian marketers with performance metrics from nearly one billion emails.

"The analysis offered in the report will be valuable for businesses in analysing their own email marketing campaigns as well as understanding the performance of email marketing as an industry" says Simon O'Day, Eservices Email Managing Director.

Although similar reports have been coming out of the USA and Europe for some time, having local data is extremely useful for Australiasian-based organisations.

Some key report findings include:

  • Who is the 'average' Australian email marketer
  • The migration towards optimized email
  • How do companies measure ROI
  • What are the growth barriers for email
  • Why size doesn't matter and content is still king
  • The rise of transactional email and mobile email viewing
  • benchmark 'open' and 'clickthrough' rates for Australian email

You can download the Big Australian Email Report from the eservices website here, or contact eliterate if you'd like to chat about the report findings and your email marketing.
